On 28th August, the first public TOEIC listening and reading examination in the second half of 2011 was conducted successfully throughout 30 test centers in 23 provinces, cities and autonomous regions across China. It was the first time that computer-based testing was administered for the TOEIC public examination, marking  a new era of computer-based TOEIC program in China.

Since ATA’s strategic cooperation with ETS on the TOEIC examination, TOEIC has undergone fast expansion through leveragingcompetitive advantages of both parties. ATA brings its superiorities in testing technologies, test delivery and administration, test channels, test related services and marketing efforts which speeded up the localization process of TOEIC, enhanced its influence among candidates and recruiters in China.

In order to follow the trend of international examinations and meeting the demand of global assessment standards, required by ETS, ATA has set up TOEIC China Management Center to transform  TOEIC from traditional paper-and-pencil administration to computer-based tests. ATA has been working closely with ETS to ensure the security and success of the first computer-based TOEIC open examination.
With this test administration format change, there will be no alteration in the process or format of enrollment, payment, test site rules, content or form structure. All test sites are set up in computer rooms according to ETS global standards. The computer-based test form improve the candidate test experience, relieves their stress and burden throughout the test.

The comprehensive  computerization not only improved the efficiency of test organization and administration of TOEIC, but also enhanced its impartiality. ATA will continue to improve its services by offering comprehensive testing services to the candidates and enterprises in China.
