The 17th Annual Conference of the Association of Test Publishers (ATP) was grandly held in Orlando, Florida of the United States from March 20 to 23, 2016. As one of ATP’s core members and one of the founding members of its Asian branch, ATA, China’s leading testing and assessment service provider, was invited to attend the annual event.

Upholding the consistent theme of “Innovations in Testing”, this year’s Annual Conference attracted more than 1,000 professionals of testing and assessment industry from over 20 countries all over the world. The topics included testing-related laws & regulations and policies, measurement and psychological assessment, test security and privacy, data management, business strategy and operation, test implementation and delivery models, etc. In the agenda of the four-day event, representatives from the world’s leading enterprises of the testing and assessment community, experts at measurement and managers of industry applications shared their insights about the industry’s innovative technologies and products. There were a total of 18 symposiums, 88 sub-forums, 19 e-poster exhibitions, 17 product demos, 13 workshops, 8 fishbowl discussions and 6 ignite sessions.

As the largest computer-based testing service provider in China, ATA has long been the focus of attention in the industry for its innovative testing technologies and products. Mr. Tang Zhaohui, Vice President of ATA,  was honorably invited to attend the event and deliver at the forum of the meeting a keynote speech which attracted many representatives for its detailed and unique contents. To echo the conference keynote of “Human-based Innovation” at the opening ceremony of the conference, Mr. Tang gave a refined introduction of the new demands and latest trends of Chinese test candidates and recruiters in China’s campus recruitment market, as well as how ATA is making use of its cloud-based testing platforms and assessment products to provide customers with more accurate and efficient talent assessment services. In addition, ATA’s No. 69 Exhibition Booth was packed with visitors enquiring and exchanging views about ATA’s service offeringss . ATA products such as MTS and Smart Testing received wide attention for their security and good usability.

It is worthwhile to mention that among the three annual awards presented at this year’s ATP Annual Conference, the “ATP 2016 Person of the Year” award was presented to Ms. Zhang Houcan, board member of ATP Asia Division and professor of Psychology at Beijing Normal University. This is the first time that the award has been granted to a person from the Asia testing industry. Therefore, it is not only an affirmation to Prof. Zhang’s contributions to the field of psychological measurement, but also a high recognition to ATP Asia Division for its efforts to promote the development of China’s testing and assessment industry.
