The Qualification Certificate Examination of Banking Professional in the first half of 2014 was successfully administered in 212 cities (4,043 exam rooms in 436 exam centers) on June 28th and 29th. It was the first administration after the reform of the qualification system for banking professionals. The examination was sponsored by China Banking Association (CBA), organized by China Bankers Institute, and administered by ATA. Officials of Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security (MOHRSS), China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC) and CBA were very attentive to the exam administration. In addition to the one-stop professional testing services including exam registration, exam organization, exam delivery, testing technologies, exam center monitoring and exam proctoring, ATA also invested a significant amount of manpower and material resources to reinforce the security of the examination.

To ensure a smooth administration, the Qualification Certificate Examination of Banking Professional Office organized an exam inspection in Beijing. Led by Li Jinsheng, Deputy-Director of Professionals Management Division of MOHRSS, and Liu Hongyu, Deputy-Director of the General Office of CBRC, the inspection team also consisted of officials from CBRC and CBA, and representatives from certification offices of China Development Bank, Agricultural Development Bank of China, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Agricultural Bank of China, Bank of China, China Construction Bank, Postal Savings Bank of China, and China Citic Bank. Accompanied by Kevin Ma, Chairman of ATA, Ding Jianmin, Senior Vice-President, Zhao Shuqiu, Vice-President, and Sun Yue, Vice-President, the inspection team inspected an exam center in Beijing physically.

In order to maintain discipline, CBRC, CBA and China Bankers Institute dispatched several inspection teams to Shanghai, Tianjin, Liaoning, Shandong, Sichuan, Shaanxi, Yunnan, Inner Mongolia, Hainan to supervise the exam administration and inspect the exam centers physically. During the exam, ATA assigned backbone staff of technologies, operation and customer service, and dispatched over 10,000 proctors to exam centers across the country to ensure smooth progress of work in various aspects. With the efforts and collaboration of all parties, the exam was successfully administered.

At the end of 2013, former Certification Examination of China Banking Professional was incorporated into the national professional qualification certificate system for unified planning. According to the system, former Certification Examination of China Banking Professional is now renamed the Qualification Certificate Examination of Banking Professional. CBA is responsible for implementing the examination. This significant reform is undoubtedly a milestone since the establishment of the banking practitioner qualification system in 2006. The incorporation of the Certification Examination of China Banking Professional into the national professional qualification certificate system shows the recognition of the credibility of the examination from inside and outside the industry, as well as the society; it also shows the state’s approval of financial institutions establishing a professional qualification certificate system. The Qualification Certificate Examination of Banking Professional in the first half of 2014 broke the record in terms of the number of registered subjects, candidates, available cities and exam centers, which embodies the candidates’ recognition and interest in the examination.
